YEC dinner and seminar

Gave a short talk at Tiara Melaka.
Khamis the president from SIFE (Student In Free Enterprise) is giving me a souvenir.
Also present was Mr.Syukor from MMU, Nutty and 2 ladies from government department.

I was 'set up' and told to wear smart casual. I brought the coat just in case, and turns out to be a right decision.

About Young Entrepreneur Center ( YEC)

The center aims at national development and planned to be the regions’ corner stone for technology commercialization and entrepreneurship advancement. The Young entrepreneur Center ( YEC) targets university students, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs and others. According to our development plan, the next step will be the establishment of a business school to be linked to the center.

Introduction:
Working closely with local and international organizations; the YEC will focus on issues such as: capacity building, consulting, counseling and developing the local “Entrepreneurial Personality & Spirit”. Furthermore, the YEC will actively work on extending the intellectual wealth of Malaysia, and collaboration countries while maintaining strong links with the business community in general.

Entrepreneurs have a wonderful record of achievement. The great enterprises of today are almost, without exception, built on the foundations created from the vision, talent and drive of entrepreneurs. For example, the great retailers such as Walmart and Marks & Spencer, the major oil companies such as BP, and the leading consumer electronics business, Sony, are all founded by entrepreneurs of vision and energy.

WINning formula

A formula I derived myself.
If I know the total number of participants, n.

n is the total number of participants
n(n/2-1)+n/2+n, where n>2
if n=10
10(10/2-1)+10/2+10
10(5-1)+5+10
10(4)+15
answer: 55

Applications:
If I organize a concert, the entry fee starts from RM1.
The next person who buys the ticket will have to pay an additional RM1.
1st person pays: RM1
2nd person pays: RM2
3rd person pays: RM3

Total revenue
=n(n/2-1)+n/2+n, where n=3
=6

In Microsoft Excel, it is
=C1*((C1/2)-1)+(C1/2)+(C1) assuming C1 contains the total number of participants

The Creative One

Malaysians are gifted in raw linguistics talent.
Not only we can master a few language, we can manipulate them at will.
Example:

Malaysia style: "My one"
English: "That belongs to me"

Malaysia style: "Like this do one"
English: "That is how it is done"

Malaysia style: "Siao one!"
English: "That is just crazy!"

Malaysia style: "This car Malaysia one"
English: "This car is made in Malaysia"

Malaysia style: "1Malaysia"
English: "........."

Ban list entry

I ordered Thai chicken chop rice at Ixora Food Court, Thai stall.
The food didn't rock, but the chicken meat was as hard as rock.

First the failed pineapple rice, now this.

Thai stall goes into my list of permanent banned shops in Bukit Beruang.

How to win a million dollars

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AeqPJojGqxc

And WINning it with STYLE!

Did you know that

I am doing my market research on online games.
Here are some interesting facts to share:

1. The average gamer in US is 33 years of age
31% under 18 years of age
44% 18 - 49
25% 50years or older.

2. Average age of MMORPG player is 26.

http://www.grabstats.com/statmain.asp?StatID=771

MMORPG gamers spend on average 21.0 hours per week playing the game , and spend on average 7.7 hours per week watching TV (N = 1996).
The national average for TV watching per week is around 28, which is what the above averages add up to. In other words, this lends support to the claim that time that was spent watching TV has been displaced by MMORPG playing.

Those who favor MMORPG games over TV have the following to say
"TV is solo activity while MMORPG has social aspect"
"Watching TV is a passive activity which lacks interaction, one of the positive of playing MMORPG is being able to influence the story outcome"

Interesting?

MCA is digging its own grave.
Now MCA members have to choose between a power crazed president or another side who can't act if their lives depend on it.

Next Level Board Game in Facebook?

Well, why not?
Now to secure development funds before proceeding.......

http://www.facebookgarage.my/dl/note_basic.pdf

Board Game Development Plan

Currently under development:
1. Course Syllabus: Next Level Board Game was designed to be a new way to learn about business, entrepreneurship and finance. We are creating a 6 week syllabus for colleges and universities lecturers.

2. Digital Version: We will either create the exact game online, or develop a mass multiplayer game using the game's principles.

3. DVD Coach: We will package the game tutorial and debrief into a single DVD. Reading game rules will be a thing of the past once this is completed.

4. Psychology Analysis: After playing the game players can will be required to fill in a self evaluation form. This can serve as a personality test and risk profiling tool.

At this time I am still using my prototype as the commercial edition isn't ready.

Playing with a group of students.

Briefing students how to play the game, the camera man caught us by surprise.

Studying the game cards. Hmmm.
