China trip picture highlights
I must say China was very different from what I expected.
After the classic "translate server error" pic which promoted Chinglish, I thought China fellas would buckle up on their translation.
Apperantly, I was wrong............

Malaysia Boleh
Judging by the title most of you will be thinking I am going to bash about Malaysia's weakness or politics.
Erm, not this time. =P
Why so serious? Lets enjoy a joke.
A taxi driver was taking a Singaporean around Kuala Lumpur. The Singaporean asked the taxi driver, "Hey, how long did you Malaysians took to build KLIA?".
The taxi driver answered, "24 months".
"WOW!" exclaimed the Singaporean, "Our airport only took us 1 year, I knew Singapore was always more efficient"
The taxi driver was obviously annoyed, but the journey continues. The Singaporean than asked how long did the KL Tower took to construct, this time the taxi driver cut off some build time and answered "6 months".
"We Singaporeans can do it in 3 months" the Singaporean said proudly.
Than the Singaporean pointed at the Petronas Twin Tower and ask "how long did that take?".
The taxi driver was shocked and said "HUH? Yesterday nothing was there?!!!!".
Malaysia 1-0 Singapore

Jay's lessons in business
I have been giving small 'consultation' to people regarding business management.
So to start off December I decided to do the same here, but in a less serious manner.
Welcome to Jay's Lessons in Business!
Lesson 1:
Mr.Windbell, Mr. Vin Farmer and Mr.Jay the boss are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp.
They rub it and a Genie comes out.
The Genie says, 'I'll give each of you just one wish.'
'Me first! Me first!' says Mr.Windbell. 'I want to be rich, an do not need to work anymore!'
Puff! He's gone like a windbell.
'Me next! Me next!' says Mr. Vin Farmer. 'I want to be in Hawaii , relaxing on the beach with a lot of pretty girls, and a field so I can farm for a long time.'
Puff! He's gone.
'OK, you're up,' the Genie says to the boss.
The boss says, 'I want those two back in the office after lunch.'
Moral of the story:
Always let your boss have the first say!

Meeting Fail
Long post is long, read this when you are free.
Todays meeting proceeded as planned. However, I was kinda disappointed by the kind of response received from Mr.Fail. (To protect his reputation his name has to be censored)
Somehow Mr.Fail managed to obtain one of my draft for the events during MMU Apprentice.
I am really surprised how 'well' he got the message out of the draft.
The draft was a brief idea, not even a proposal. Yet Mr.Fail insist that the events doesn't make sense. Out of 7 or 8 events he kept focusing on one easy to understand task and insist the tasks I propose are stupid.
To make things worst, I expect someone from that level to have a good choice of words.
He can't stop using the word 'rubbish' during meeting. I wonder if he is really rubbish or has limited vocab.
To summarize his mistakes that crosses me, Mr.Fail :
1. Say board game sucks and can't learn stuff from playing it, since it is a controlled environment experiment.
Some people just aren't smart enough to learn by playing games, that is why a debrief is needed after each board game. Just in case someone as 'smart' as Mr.Fail can't learn anything from a board game, even if it is Monopoly.
To make him sound more 'smart', the entrepreneurship club IS going to organize board game competitions, if he feels board games are an inferior way of learning something, why agree with that activity? Maybe he knows that we students can accomplish what he can't, finding a way to learn something from board game.
2. Say my event proposal sucks, because is controlled environment
Well, his idea world economy simulation during a camp isn't a controlled environment? I am confused. And he insisted that all the events are controlled environment. Read the fine print Mr.Fail, read my notes!
3. Says the richest people (someone like Donald Trump) in Malaysia which earns RM100,000 a month are from pyramid scheme. Really, where has he been all these years? I can forgive the person who say this if he/she is a Alpha Small Kid. But a club adviser?! Give me a break.
4. Bloggers who use blogs to market/sell their stuff are losers and annoying people. Cyberprenuership is about internet business isn't it? How could someone who is supposed to promote entrepreneurship in the internet accuse people selling stuff online? I wonder if this guy deserves to be the club advisor.
5. Mr. Fail claims that Windows Movie Maker is lousy. Well, a bad worker always blame their tools. Besides, either he doesn't have a clue what we are going to do, or he is ignorant of the potential of Windows Movie Maker. Either way, it really show that Mr.Fail has little substances. I have been using Windows Movie Maker since high school and even for my final year project. It got me an "A", so I suppose it works well. Why need a machine gun to kill a mosquito?
In short, I have many doubts about him.
1. Have he ever watched The Apprentice? I feel he doesn't get the idea of The Apprentice. The Apprentice is about proving yourself that no matter what task is given to you, you are able to perform regardless of your background. He wanted to limit the tasks so that they are relevant to the sponsors. I am sure the sponsors will laugh of loud upon listening to him.
2. Does he understand the purpose of entrepreneurship is being your own boss? He is so focused on getting the contest winner to work for someone reputable, for a club which promotes entrepreneurship. Perhaps he should start another club "Job Club" and be the club adviser. Entrepreneurship club needs someone with entrepreneur mindset to lead them. (like me? haha)
3. Likes to dig his own grave, or what the Chinese call "stuffing into a cow's horn". Why can't he be open minded and be flexible?
4. Really when he mention that he failed 2 business ventures I am not that surprised now. It is worth noting that he did mention that the business failed due to problems among members. I am not surprised, I have yet to join forces with him and already I am annoyed!
Moral of the story: Get a winner and entrepreneur for a club which focus on entrepreneurship. Period.
Wow, its been a while since I have written anything that lengthy in 20 minutes. Reminds me of the good old days where we have exams. Ya, I like exams, didn't I tell you that before?
Thank you for spending your time reading this!

Steamboat in Bukit Beruang MMU
Finally! MMU Melaka students can enjoy buffet style steamboat in Bukit Beruang.
Its been a while since I have anything to update about Bukit Beruang.
Finally Aurora cafe think out of the box (at least a little) and came up with something we MMU students never seen before around the area.
As for promotion, due to budget constrains I can only provide them this advertisement:

Hark Sei Ngor
Hark Sei Ngor means scare me to death in Cantonese.
I was testing a stack of computer power supply unit.
When I turned on one of them, it exploded.
Audio and visual effects are similar to a firecracker.
Lucky no one was injured in the accident, MMU's circuit systems are as usual and the wall socket still funtion well.
The only casualty is that power supply.
So class continues as usual! =D

Title: Why Samy is the best
During a parliament session, DAP ask Samy Vellu why the projects built under him always collapse and have things fall down from the top.
Samy Vellu in his cool manner answered: "Ini soalan yang paling bodoh saya dengar, tentulah benda tu jatuh dari atas ke bawah, mana ada benda jatuh dari bawah ke atas"

Financial Crisis: A lesson learnt
After providing risky loans to Americans and they did not pay the banks, US financial institutes went bankrupt. AIG was fortunate to be saved by the government with their bailout plan.
After the US government announced the bailout, AIG's top executives spend US$440,000 on a holiday at a luxury resort somewhere in California. They get to celebrate with expensive wine and fresh lobsters while the world was cleaning up their mess.
Moral of the story: If you make a mistake, make sure it is a big one, one that will rock the world and force the world to save you.

Recycle for Charity Organization in Melaka
When was the last time you did something good?
As we are educated about hardship of others, our company will be a caring organization which puts social responsibilities as one of our priority.
From now, we will be giving a monthly donations to Taiwan Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation Malaysia - Tzu Chi Melaka, and Salvation Army Melaka.
We will go as far as build complete computer systems and donate to them. When people purchase the computers, the money goes to the charity organization.
We are accepting computer scrap donations. After collecting computer scraps, part of the money gained from selling scraps goes to charity.
We really hope our actions will inspire others to do good as well!

Its is time for a harvest
Harvesting Operations:
I really hate farmers, and this 'new breed' of farmers from MBMB is more annoying than ever!
Each time a car owner is issued a summon, they are being harvested for RM100.
As a matter of testimony, i have been issued 2 to 3 summons so far.
I hate those so called law enforcers!
Catch the real thieves, not university students who DO NOT threaten the society!
